Official vs model rankings
Source feeds answer standings questions. PowerIndex profiles answer current-strength questions from Triathlon Lab scoring.
Ranking Guide
This guide focuses on what users can misread: official standings are not Lab scores, specialist profiles use different race pools, discipline tabs change the model lens, and expandable athletes show the races behind a score.

Full specialists, middle specialists, short-course profiles, and overall PowerIndex do not use the same race pool.
Swim, Bike, and Run rankings are separate strength lenses, useful when the question is about one segment instead of the full race.
Open an athlete to see the races supporting the score, so close comparisons are based on results instead of rank alone.
Model rankings include confidence and reliability because a score based on thin or stale results should be read differently from a deep profile.
Ranking screen
The page can show official source standings or Triathlon Lab model scorecards. The rank number only makes sense after you know which lens produced it.
1234PowerIndex is a model scorecard view. Open an athlete's scoring races when the ranking difference matters.
